Hello Forge Hub!

Way back on the release night of Halo 4 we decided to smack everyone immediately with something to set your sights on. Remember that little Forge contest we started up a couple months back where we wanted you to remake a map from any previous Halo game? Do you remember that? Of course you do, because ever since that fateful day on December 31st I am sure that all who entered eagerly (but patiently) waited for this article to shine on the front page. Here she is!

Runner Ups

10th - Moonbase by Given to Fly - 7.3/10
9th - Chiron by mgk fliver - 7.5/10
8th - Ghost Town by Indie Anthias - 7.7/10
7th - Burial Mounds by K3N0S1S - 7.9/10
6th - Boarding Action by longridr - 8.0/10
5th - Sacrament by Indie Anthias - 8.3/10
4th - Guardian by God of Forge - 8.7/10

3rd Place - H3 MLG Pit by DeBehr - 9/10

Gamertag: De Behr | Original Map: The Pit (Halo 3)

This is a go-to competitive classic for most veteran Halo players anywhere. This iconic figure in Halo 3 was once the stage for many grueling matches of Slayer and it is once again reborn into its Halo 4 counterpart to have blood spilled on it once more.

2
nd Place - Rat Trap by MickRaider - 9.3/10

Gamertag: Vincent Torre | Original Map: Rat Race (Halo CE)

Back again, and one place up the ladder is MickRaider with his remake of Rat Race from Halo CE. This map may not have been one of the more popular maps in the original Halo game, but it did present itself as one of the more arena type maps of the game. Rat Race was fun back in its day and it is fun again today in Halo 4. As a side note, this plays excellently with Infinity Slayer.

1
st Place - Elegy by Urban Myth - 9.7/10

Gamertag: o Urban Myth o | Original Map: Epitaph (Halo 3)

The creme de la creme of our contest this time is yet another Halo 3 remake. Halo 3 was choc full of good maps and while The Pit may already be a top placer, the map to take the gold today is Elegy, a brilliant remake of Epitaph by resident awesome forger Urban Myth. This map is masterfully crafted from the top down exactly like Epitaph from back in the good ol' H3 days, and the transition into Halo 4 feels near seamless. It plays a wonderful game of classic Slayer and it even fits the bill for Infinity Slayer too. All-in-all, this was a good choice to remake, and it was done very well.
Great job Urban!

That concludes the Forgotten Treasures III contest. We appreciate anyone who helped us out in the judging process. We tried a new judging set-up with a more concrete criteria which, judging from the winners, worked on some level.

We look forward to seeing what amazing creations you cook up when we give you a new book to bake from. You have definitely given us a taste of Forge Hub's true potential and we cannot wait to see more. And now I'm hungry...

Apologies for the lack of concrete prizes in this contest. Times are tough right now, but we are taking steps to make sure that future endeavors are more rewarding to the entrants. Also, look for our next fun-for-everyone Forge Competition on the front page soon!

Happy forging Forge Hub,
Organite
