Christmas, Christmas, Time is Here
Hello Hubbers. It's a very special time of the year, a time for sharing joy and love throughout the frozen lands of Avalanche, all the way to the frosted metal railings of Lockout. All across Containment spartans are hanging their stockings with joy, awaiting the night these merry socks will be stuffed with grenades and ammo. Chillout guys, I promise to stop referencing historically icy Halo maps.

So, gather round the fire, trade your seasonally wrapped weapons and AA's with your fellow spartans, and prepare to read a brand-spankin' new holiday themed Site Update.

Double rainbow all the way across the sky!!!
In the realm of promotions Nutduster has been moved on up to the rank of journalist. Nuduster is our new resident "pretty cool guy", and you're going to see him all around the site being full of life and energy. Also, Cryppy! has joined us as our newest Media Director.

Congrats to both of you guys!

Caption Contest

As you may have noticed, the Caption Contest has made a return lately. This once forgotten contest of our olden days is making a mighty return on our front page, soliciting quite a few entertaining jokes from our comedic community. Keep in mind, winning the Caption Contest rewards you with a nifty new Custom Title. This weeks Custom Title up for grabs is: Why So Serious?

Last weeks winner was Xun, who won with this image:

This week, we're asking you to provide a caption for this image over in the official thread, here.

If you have any questions you can contact Organite

The FHeed Forgecast
If you've been paying attention around the site you may have noticed our brand new Forgecast area, which serves as a rapid-fire mini-article blog for our Community Managers. Recently, we've been adding lots of different things mini-articles to this area, hoping to really increase the activity levels and give information to our community faster. Most of these new mini-articles are around to highlight general community awesomeness, and the awesomeness of our site-based custom groups. If you have anything you feel should be highlighted in the feed, please contact me (RightSideTheory) with a link and pertinent information.

Cool things to check out in the FHeed Forgecast:

Staff Picks
So, along with everything else we've been adding to the Forgecast we're also adding a new "Staff Picks" article. Every week two staff members will do a small write up for their favorite maps, to be posted in the Forgecast. This will not count as a feature, and maps that receive "Staff Picks" will not be in any way excluded from getting a feature at some point in the future. This system will be replacing the old system where staff members would stick their favorite maps for a short period of time. Hopefully, these maps will gain much more attention than they may have otherwise, and will function as a way for the staff to share and highlight maps for the community without dropping our higher standards for featured maps.

If you have any questions about this new system, feel free to PM me (RightSideTheory) about it.

The Guild
[l-col]The Tester’s Guild: among the piles of armor and glistening weapon racks you’ll find a large number of Hubbers march into the digital battlefields and test the crap out of your newly crafted map. The guys in the Tester’s Guild may have personalized opinions, but each is capable of giving you input both on things they enjoyed and disliked about your map, helping you achieve a perfect gameplay balance before you post your newly polished battlefield here in our map database. Should you want them to give your map a run through, redirect your browser to this forum here, read the posting guidelines, and set yourself up for success through the men at work behind the scenes in the Tester’s Guild. Enjoy playing Halo? Enjoy giving map creators input? Work for the Guild![/l-col][r-col]Every so often (every other Friday to be exact) a selection of refined and scholarly individuals from our forums host an evening full of custom games and shenanigans. Depending on what those individuals choose to host, whether it be competitive, casual, infection, invasion, mini-game oriented or a mix of them all is up to these bastions of fun, but it's up to you which of these lobbies you join. Sit back, put your feet up, throw back that shot-glass full of Jack Daniels, and enjoy a night with cool dudes from all around the world. If you'd like to host your own official lobby for our next TGIF, send a private message to me, RightSideTheory.[/r-col]

Question of the Site Update:
Last Update we asked you guys about your thoughts on the Crimson Map Pack. This week, we're going to go in a non-halo related direction:

What are you doing for the holidays?

If you have any thoughts on this article, or the front page in general, that you would like to share with us then we invite you to post your opinions in the Front Page Feedback thread.
