Tardy
tar·dy [tahr-dee]
adjective, tar·di·er, tar·di·est.
1. late; behind time; not on time: How tardy were you today?
2. moving or acting slowly; slow; sluggish.
3. delaying through reluctance.
Today I was tardy. Site updates are supposed to go out on Sunday, but due to personal reasons my day was packed full of stuff and things, and things and stuff. I apologize, gentlesirs of our corner of the interweb, for I have failed you.
In other news, it's now 1am my time while I type this. I haven't had a late night writing project since my procrastinatastic days of college last year! Brings back memories, yes yes.
In other other news, we have contests going on!
Forge Hub 1v1 Smackdown
One week.
Seven Days.
One hundred sixty eight hours.
Ten thousand eighty minutes.
Six hundred four thousand eight hundred seconds.
[l-col]These numbers are approximations, being that the time may differ slightly depending on your location in the world or the point at which you are reading this. If I had more experience in coding I would write a script that you could input your time zone into that would then return the exact amount of time between this moment and point at which our 1v1 competition closes its sign-up doors, but unfortunately, I lack the skills.[/l-col][r-col]Regardless, next week, August 27th to be exact, our 1v1 Smackdown competition sign ups close. If you are not signed up to participate you'd better get on over to this thread right here and sign up! You could win a copy of Halo 4! You already have Halo 4 preordered? So what! Sign up anyway! Think of how much fun you could have with two copies of Halo 4. Double the fun, that's how much.[/r-col]
Mmmmmmm... Cheif... We wants you.
To reiterate, sign ups end next week, August 26th, and 11:59pm EST. If you want to participate for your chance to win a copy of Halo 4, go sign up!
Flag Taken. Flag Dropped. Flag Reset.
In between your 1v1 training time you should get working on a map for our other contest, Flag Reset!
Just because you all are completely caught up in Smackdown forge fever, doesn't mean the monthly contests are going to cease. Rather than give you any breathing room, we are pushing you further to forge more with that competitive mindset you're already in. This month we are putting the focus on one of halo's most beloved gametypes, Capture the Flag. CTF has been the source for some of the most intense gameplay in my halo career, from epic 0-2 comebacks to clutch 3-2 victories, CTF has provided more memorable moments then any other gametype. This is your chance to capture some of that intensity and win yourself a little fame and glory in the process.
Now if classic 2 flag isn't your thing don't worry, we are opening the submissions to include maps for both the 1 Flag and Neutral flag gametypes. You will have the next 4 weeks to build, test, tweak and finalize your submissions. For full details, see below.

Admins be Ridiculousin' of the Site Update.
That's right, ridiculousin'. Last time around I asked: "If you had one hour to be omnipotent, what would you do?"
To which Bloo extended upon my thought:
I personally would go base jumping, without any equipment, off of skyscrapers. I would also make sure that I land on repulsion gel for fun. I know secretly I would wish for myself to be bounced into outerspace, or at least really high up into the atmosphere, but unfortunately the principle of momentum conservation is a thing.
I'd do similar to you Noxy. But the difference is I'd have a portal gun and paint New York City in the gels, specifically repulsion gel. That way the entire city would become my own little bouncy castle and I could teleport around from place to place bouncing off the sides of buildings and base jumping off the Empire State Building.
Even better, lets be omnipotent together!
It's a date, Bloo. It's a date.
This time around will be a little bit different, however. First, a message from your friendly neighborhood Transactionzero:
So there Shock and I were, chatting up a storm. First a discussion about tea. Gourmet tea, loose tea, and then British tea. How to drink a proper cup of tea. After all you don't want to drink your tea wrong do you? And for godsakes put the damn lemon away.
Before you read on I want you to go and google "what is a crumpet?". You can see some amazing questions and answers. Quite comical actually. For instance this one fellow couldn't travel without crumpets as they were an integral part of his life or so he said.
So I asked that same question to Shock over XBL and this my friends........ is how it started. Shock chuckled and replied: "Well Tz, the one thing that a crumpet is not is an English muffin. There is no comparison! First off crumpets have pores on top of them. So whichever topping you want to add, whether it be jam, butter or preserves, it soaks into the crumpet. Now once you've added your topping, the real magic begins to happen!"
Biting into the crumpet is a joyous experience or so I'm told. You remember the topping put upon the crumpet right? Well once you bite into the lovely sucker it explodes... it oozes out whatever topping you put on it. Forget eargasms... this is a mouthgasm.
So after explaining the prelims to you newbies, now I can actually get to the meat of the story. After all of this explaining Shock begins to search the internet for stores near my location that stock crumpets. I live in NJ and the only way anyone would know about a crumpet is if a reality TV star mentioned them and the chances of this happening are slim to none.
First it was Shop Rite, then A&P and finally Shock stumbled upon Wegmans. Hooray! They have crumpets! Time to order those suckers and have them delivered to TZ. Shock then entered his house address and [providence?] He hits confirm and the site prompted him telling him his savings card would arrive in 5-7 business days. He clicks add to cart and expects a check out. Yet, the site doesn't allow him to, for it's just a shopping list for when you visit the store. Hilarity ensues.
Shock still thinking of his failure with Wegmans decides to go to Amazon. Huzzah! Crumpets. After getting my address and details Shock orders me a six pack of crumpets.
My question to you guys is: What topping should I put on my crumpets when I get them?
I will pick one of the toppings you guys mention and add it to my crumpet. I'll even post a pic in the next SU. Who knows I might order the winner a package of crumpets! Pay it forward!
Being American, I feel obligated to tell you to get bacon as a topping.
