Foreign Treasures II Results

It seems to be that I am quite frequently saying the words "and here we are at the close of another contest". Being that they are monthly, I suppose that makes sense. Nonetheless, we are once again wrapping up another one of Forge Hub's favorite contests with Foreign Treasures II. It was a long and arduous process of judging these maps but after much deliberation we have come to a consensus, or at least as much of a consensus as we ever come to!

I won't delay you too much with words as I know you're all very eager to find out the winners and have probably already scrolled past me. However, I just want to let all of the participants know how happy I was to see you out for the Reach iteration of Foreign Treasures and I hope to see you back again when we inevitably bring this back for Halo 4. Onward to the results!

Third Place

Vault

Vault was quite accurate to the original map, Lockdown from Modern Warfare 3. However, some weapon placements and the gameplay transfer held the map back from higher placement. The filter was a complaint of some of the judges.

Second Place

Reminiscence
Original Map: Skedar (PD)

Reminiscence was excellent in the accuracy and gameplay categories. The map was quite fun to play and a pretty unique Halo experience. However, some forge mishaps (z-fighting) held this map back from a potential number one spot.

First Place

Confined
Original Map: Shipment (COD4)

This is the second time a Shipment map has placed in our Foreign Treasures contest. Maybe we just have a soft spot for Shipment or maybe there is just some merits in creating a map that could be considered "easy". Nonetheless, nopony can deny that Confined is a looker and it played quite well too. The only thing I wish was those zones on the containers were hard-kills and the framerate was non-existent.

Well guys, that's it for Foreign Treasures II. Make sure to congratulate all the winners here and keep an eye out for the featuring of Confined tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing you all back here in Halo 4.
