One week and two day my friends, Halo: Anniversary is just around the corner, figuratively, of course. What will we see in this recreation? Only time will tell ... we here behind the scenes of Forge Hub are not exactly allowed to discuss that content with the public just yet (mainly because we don't know either). Until then, however, we'll keep our boots planted firmly in our comfortable zone: Halo: Reach.
Welcome to the Site Update.
[l-col]Hub of the Dead II Recap
In case you missed it, the results for our Hub of the Dead II competition came rolling in just last week. To everyone that submitted a map: great work. You've made this competition a huge success--and with such short notice! Go ahead and support the authors if you haven't already!
Our grand prize went to ThrowinDemBows for his hard work on Haunted Coast, be sure to look for a Community Spotlight article with him soon! Closely snagging second place was our very own Rorak Kuroda and nibbles for their excellent work on their new map Parallex. And honorably taking third place is Elliot with his new map Pandora's Fear.
Be sure to congratulate these four for bringing us a wave of excellent infection maps![/l-col]
[r-col]The Fast and the Forge
Just announced yesterday, our November forge contest strives to bring about the best race track maps our members can muster! If you haven't already read the announcement thread, please redirect your browser to this thread here. If you enjoy race maps, you may very well want to partake in this one!
The Fast and the Forge is set to flex forger's creative muscles in racetrack design. The type of racetrack you design is completely up to you, whether you stick to the rolling green landscape on the ground or take to the skies with one of the more time intensive designs. Don't rush your design though, you've got until November 29th to get your newest creation the best it can be. [/r-col]
Community Involvement
[l-col][/l-col][r-col][/r-col]
Community involvement here on Forge Hub is one of the key factors that keep members coming back. On a daily basis members from around the globe come to our forums to exchange opinions, look for assistance with their projects, and hand out moral support with Halo related and non-Halo related material. It's this kind of communication that transforms random forum-goers into actual friends. If you're new to our forums, and are looking for help with your creations or you just want to become active in a community of Halo enthusiasts, read on, this information might help you achieve those goals.
Our TRC Guild (Tester's Guild, Review Hub, and Custom's Lobby) are sections of our forums where members go to test their unfinished maps, review completed maps, or sit back and relax during a night of epic custom games. So what is the purpose of these three outlets of Forge Hub? Other than community involvement as mentioned previously, they also reward active participants with their very own specialized ranks. If you contribute to one of the three portions of the guild you very well may find yourself a brand new colour! What are the requirements to land yourself the rank, you ask? Each portion has different requirements, as listed below.
Tester's Guild Requirements:
There are five ranks in the Testers Guild. These ranks are Junior Member, Member, Senior Member, Loyal Member, and Guild Leader. All successful applicants to the guild will be placed in the rank of Junior Member after providing their first feedback in the Test Feedback forum. With each successful term, that member will gain a Gold Star
for providing feedback using the correct format. In addition to this, a member will receive a Gold Star for providing multiple feedbacks (1 feedback = 1
, 2 feedbacks = 2
etc...). Members may also be rewarded an extra star for providing the Most Feedback, attending the most testing sessions and providing the Best Feedback each term or the Most Feedback.
Read the full article on Tester's Guild requirements here.
Review Hub Requirements:
A certain number of tasks needs to be maintained in order to be deemed active. The maintenance requirements are detailed in each rank. Accompanying the maintenance requirements are the promotion requirements. The promotion requirements outline what an individual must accomplish within their current rank to be eligible for advancement. Once the necessary requirements are met then the member is given the option to rank up. If said member chooses to stay at their current rank with the current responsibilities they are free to do so and will continue to collect pencils, but upon advancing to a new rank, pencil count returns to zero and the member must start over under the new rank's requirements. Members are not allowed to advance more than one rank per cycle.

Custom's Lobby (TGIF Host) Requirements
Requirements to obtain a TGIF Host rank.
Host four consecutive TGIFs (that's back to back for a grand total of four TGIFs spanning eight weeks)
Continue a party spans a minimum of two hours
Submit a recap of their TGIF which consists of:
A two paragraph write up
A minimum of two pictures from their TGIF
At least three download links of the maps they've played
So, how do you know which portion to join? If the requirements above didn't help you make a decision, I'll try to describe the basics a bit more in depth.
As a Tester's Guild member you will help test unfinished maps in an attempt to help the author publish the very best map that he can.
As a Review Hub member you will take finished maps and review them in an attempt to guide the audience as to whether or not they should download a specific map.
The Custom's Lobby member, more generally referred to as a TGIF host, holds bi-weekly sessions of custom games. What he decides to play is up to his own discretion. If you would like to host a TGIF lobby, please PM Pegasi with the template below filled out.

A-a-a-alliteration of the SITE UPDATE
Two weeks ago we went with a mini-caption contest, we can all agree that the image, courtesy of spy penguin, is quite humorous.
Xun replied with the lulful remark of:
"The Covenant; earning their Equal Employment Opportunity Commission approval."
This time around however, we won't be doing a question or a caption, instead an alliteration. please, community, craft me a wonderful alliteration regarding eating delicious food.
If you have any thoughts on this article, or the front page in general, that you would like to share with us then we invite you to post your opinions in the Front Page Feedback thread.
