2v2 Throwdown Round 10

We're finally at that stage where, shock-horror, rounds are actually afforded fully fledged names in lieu of mundane numbers. Well, if you're lucky enough to still be in the Winner Bracket, where we've reached the Semi Finals stage. Due to the extra rounds played by the Loser Bracket, they're stuck with boring ol' Round 10 for now. But fret not, your time will come.

It is at this stage in proceedings that we start asking for all matches played from now on to be saved and fileshared, meaning that at least one player (preferably more) from each game should volunteer to save and upload the game for contribution to the Throwdown Media project that will follow the tournament. As we say, the more films submitted from each match, the better, and if you made a sick play during any game then we'd really like to see it. Head on over to the linked thread to submit films. As for the rest of the Round 10 process, here we go again:

  • Matches for Round 10 have now been posted in the Championship Bracket Board.

  • If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 8 and won your match, you continue in the Winners Bracket.

  • If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 9 and won your match, you continue in the Losers Bracket.

  • If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 9 and lost your match, you have been eliminated from the tournament.

  • You must organise your match in your designated match thread, the proper process for which is detailed in the thread. Remember, matches are best of 3 games, all of which must use the official Throwdown gametype on the specified map for the respective round.

  • Matches must be played and the results posted (with Bungie.net game link as proof) by Midnight EST on Sunday the 16th of October.

As always, would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself.

Once again, here are the map and gametype links for your convenience:

http://www.astrogaming.com/With a mere 5 rounds and 3 maps left to go in the 2v2 Throwdown, we hope that even those who have long since been eliminated join us in following the action as it really beings to heat up. The final stages of our past tournaments have tended to draw quite a crowd, and with the video coverage that starts with these rounds you'll eventually have a chance to get an even more in depth look at how the highest levels of competition play out in our first Reach tournament. As for those still competing, don't let your eyes slip from the prize and, as always, good luck!

If you have any thoughts on this article, or the front page in general, that you would like to share with us then we invite you to post your opinions in the Front Page Feedback thread.
