2v2 Throwdown Round 8

With the group stages now over, only 16 teams remain to enter the Championship Bracket, 8 in the Winner Bracket and 8 in the Loser Bracket. Each the biggest fish in their respective pond, these teams now have to fight through another final group, identical in format to the previous eight. With the vast majority of original entrants having been eliminated in earlier rounds, we invite those who aren't part of this fortunate few to join us in following the action as it heats up. As a result of the transition to the Championship Bracket, the process for this week (and subsequent rounds from here on out) is a little different:

  • Only one group will be used for the remainder of the tournament, the Championship Bracket.

  • If you won your respective group in either the WB or the LB, you enter the Championship Bracket and your match thread for Round 8 will be posted in there.

  • If you were in the Winner Bracket during Round 6 and won your match, you have qualified for the Championship Winner Bracket.

  • If you were in the Loser Bracket during Round 7 and won your match, you have qualified for the Championship Loser Bracket.

  • If you were in the Loser Bracket during Round 7 and lost your match, you have been eliminated from the tournament.

  • You must organise your match in your designated match thread, the proper process for which is detailed in the thread. Remember, matches are best of 3 games, all of which must use the official Throwdown gametype on the specified map for the respective round.

  • Matches must be played and the results posted (with Bungie.net game link as proof) by Midnight EST on Sunday the 2nd of October.

As always, would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself.

Once again, here are the map and gametype links for your convenience:

http://www.astrogaming.com/Next week will see the release of the Round 10/11 map, one of only four remaining forge creations to be unveiled as part of our 2v2 Throwdown (those of you who are quick with mental calculations should be able to glean something interesting from that). Good luck to those who still remain in the tournament, you're past the half way mark and looking down the final stretch. Said stretch is, however, littered with a few obstacles in the form of 15 other group-winning teams, so don't let the shiny prizes distract you from taking this round by round. As always, good luck!
