2v2 Throwdown Round 3 (LB Only)
That's right, if you were in the Winners Bracket last round and won your Round 2 match, you've earned a weeks respite. This round is for the Losers Bracket only, so if you won your LB match or lost your WB match in Round 2, you're in the mix this time around as well. Round 4 will see both the WB and the LB playing side by side again, with Round 5 being LB only once again, and so on. However, if you're one of the lucky few to have secured a break, you may find a worthy use for your newfound spare time near the bottom of this article. As for the rest of you, Round 3 will proceed thusly:
Matches have now been posted in the Bracket Boards. Your group remains the same as in previous rounds.
If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 2 and won your match, you continue in the Winners Bracket.
If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 2 and lost your match, you move down to the Losers Bracket.
If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 2 and won your match, you continue in the Losers Bracket.
If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 2 and lost your match, you have been eliminated from the tournament.
You must organise your match in your designated match thread, the proper process for which is detailed in the thread. Remember, matches are best of 3 games, all of which must use the official Throwdown gametype on the specified map for the respective round.
Matches must be played and the results posted (with Bungie.net game link as proof) by Midnight EST on Sunday the 28th of August.
As always, would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself. For convenience, here are the links to the gametype and map for Round 3, which are the same as they were for Round 2:

Round 4/5 map - Hellium
As I hinted at above, there's plenty to be doing this week even if you're sitting pretty in the Winners Bracket with no match scheduled in Round 3, as the map to be used in Rounds 4 and 5, Hellium, has been officially released and posted on the front page. As the first asymmetrical map to be used in the tournament, Hellium will require a different approach to the previous two arenas. Deciding on whether to pick and control a power position, or stay aggressive and roam, pushing enemy spawns, will be the first decision facing the teams who put in the time to practice this week. As always, practice could well prove to be the clinching factor in a Round 4 or 5 victory, so use this time well whether you've got a match this week or not.

http://www.astrogaming.com/This is the final round where you'll be faced with an unfamiliar format, if you're not already familiar with double elimination brackets, of course. After this, things will begin making more and more sense, as the Round format switches between WB + LB Rounds and LB only Rounds (like this one). We'll be keeping you updated with the current format from round to round with these articles, but for an easy point of reference just remember that even numbered rounds will have both WB and LB matches, whereas odd numbered rounds will be LB only. The map used will change at the start of even numbered rounds and remain in use for the following 2 rounds, but these maps will be released at the start of odd numbered rounds, giving teams a week to practice and learn each new map.
Keep your eyes on the prize and as always, good luck!
