I might only be speaking for myself, but I'm sorry I didn't take part in this TGIF. This article has a bunch of recaps to offer. It looks like it was a lot of fun. For some people, I'm sure, the relaxation and fun was greeted with much appreciation. This time of the year is sometimes stressful with the end of semesters and the accompanying workload. But the hosts know the golden rule (no not the one about kindness) "All work and no play makes you a dull boy (or girl or thing)." And they even beat the dark magic of Friday the 13th. So let's get to it; your TGIF 14: Recap!
So I hear you're the one to come to if I've got a TGIF Recap in my possession. Well I just so happen to have one.
I’ve hosted my fair share of Custom Games Nights in the past, and typically we get anywhere from 12-16 people the entire night. However, this one was pretty sub-par in comparison, boasting a paltry 8 person average the entire night. However, the TGIF must go on, right? And indeed it did go on (this is starting to sound more and more like a fairy tale with every sentence). While my standard journey infection maps and large team-based games were of no use, I still had quite a few other tricks up my sleeve. And by tricks I mean maps. And by sleeve I mean local files storage area. In case you missed the metaphor.
Anyway, the night proceeded with small, typically hectic mini-games. The gameplay ranged from The Blood Bowl to a nice discussion of politics over tea. Er, scratch that, I meant to say Splash Damage. And of course, everything in between. However, since those games were played back to back, there wasn’t much in between. Although, some of the other games included Crash-up Derby and Left4Dead. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible night, but by no means was it the best.
But I know you ForgeHubbers. You want pictures. And so, at the conclusion of the summary, Plasma Blades said, “Let there be pictures!” And then there were pictures.
It’s rainin’ men.. Hallelujah..
“It’s okay, that wasn’t the first time I’ve taken balls to the face”
What, you were expecting some witty caption down here? I think not.
This TGIF finally went off without a hitch. We got a party of 16 at 8pm and kept it till about 2:30am. We played a ton on racing and mini games with a few invasion/competives maps sprinkled inbetween. I enjoyed myself especially playing a new Hot Pursuit game that is being finished up by some friends and is looking really to take up the reins of our long lost Tremors and Tremor variants. We played all the staples of TGIF: Indiana Jones, Cat N Mouse, Rocket Race, Don't EMP me Bro, Rent-A-Car, Battle Tracks, Double Rainbow, TOADZ, Smear the Pinkie, Hex... just to name a few. Another big highlight of the night was Tetris a game that had been released for awhile but I never played till this TGIF and it was very fun gave a lot of ideas about how to fix the mixed bag that is Hobos on Saliva. Some of our most requested games were Cawk Blawkin and Nascar on Speed so if you havnt played those yet get out of your cave and try them out.. Overall I got to meet a lot of new people a lot of loud people that enjoyed themselves ( I base this on how loud they were) So I want to thank everyone for coming by and playing.

Last Friday, I hosted my fourth and last party to attain my loyal rank. So in good fashion, I decided to start my lobby off in style with some Sunday Driver. Those who played the game thoroughly enjoyed the madness of multiple warthogs being launched at you from all sides. With then the lobby filled, I started up Tetris (which I came second at for the second week in a row) where we confused a child. He had no clue that you actually had to KILL the people below. Therefore, everyone who was a zombie got to the end. After that game we moved onto a couple more minigames like Stealin’ your Flags and Left4Dead. Now with the lobby in full swing, we moved onto some more competitive gameplay.
We started up with a personal favourite: Cargo Port. The plan was to play one game, but the lobby (including I) enjoyed it so much that we played a second game of One Flag. The next map lined up was Bunker Complex. So, at the request of a panda, we held off a massive underground complex. The joy of the map was short-lived though, as the general understanding was that the game was bad. Due to a very strange connection issue we could not play a game on a great invasion map called The Hushed Apprentice. Also, as it turns out my CTF segment went really well playing on some CTF gems such as Timberland and Kanava District.
Well in know this has been a short recap, but I would like to thank all the guys who came on Friday. It was a great night and we had some good fun.

We had another great long full TGIF with many customs games from all over. Like always, we started early, and ended late. We played games from modded 10-minute-lap races to Big Bro Snipers (with of course many mini games). Sadly I forgot to save some of our TGIF group screen shots, but I was able make videos of some maps we tested and played. All are featured on my YouTube channel "TheHaloForgeEpidemic".
YouTube - Preview "Jump Rope" - TheHaloForgeEpidemic
This is Jump Rope. Its a mini game that I have been testing for several weeks and should be done sometime in the next few weeks. I consider it the most unpredictable mini game for any TGIF. You just never know what will happen (like that flying wraith).
YouTube - Preview "Hall of Balls" - TheHaloForgeEpidemic
Here is Hall of Balls, pretty catchy game, heard someone mention the name during the TGIF and everyone loved it. It used to be called "MAKE YOU MAD"... because its actually a quite fustrating game. Anyway its basically Avalanche but with the heroic skull turned on.
YouTube - "Bunker Complex" - Halo Reach Forge Maps (THFE) - (Ep.9)
And last but not least, a review episode from Bunker Complex, by Oakley HiDef (you may recognize him here by RivalMass). The map was officially done during this TGIF, and the map should be posted soon (if not already) here on forgehub under the halo reach casual game forum. By far the best 16 player invasion game up to date.
By the way, this is also my 4th recap... so now that means I get one of those fancy purple names right? Then I need to either change my avatar's lightsaber to purple, or just find a sexy picture of princess princess leia... with purple hair of course.
This week's night started ridiculously quickly; within perhaps 5 minutes, there were 14+ people in my party. Of course, some were being a tad stupid, so they were removed but the rest of the night went pretty well. I tried something new this week, and tried out a couple of party members' maps, which I think I will be doing again next time, as well as this new thing I thought of where the partiers(?) can save their own films, and put them in their file share for me to use in the recap.
About two thirds though, we had a visit from Mr. Insane54 himself (which I assume is because I had invited him) and many were in awe by his Bungie All star nameplate. We managed to play a couple new classics such as Avalanche (Didn't make it in the recap video); Gluttonous Geese (My new favourite game); and once again, Catalyst (Onyx, you need to fix some of the lifts, a couple send you off the edge or just plain splat you).
As my new Hauppauge allows it, I have another video this week. The backing track runs quiet for about 30 seconds half way through and there are some jump cuts to try and sync audio (Never do these for creativeness, it doesn't work) but I think overall it's not too bad, and you get the idea of the night's atmosphere.
Sorry this TGIF started so late guys! D: I had some problems getting my brother's xbox but it should be fine next time. When I got on I had trouble starting so I took the few that I had and merged with Vice. The rest of the night was great and we had a pretty much a full party the entire time.
Lots of great gameplay, plenty of minigame variety and no complaints. There was quite a few lol moments too, sharpshooter was unfortunately unable to get his livestream working, but sometime soon, I will be able to create a TGIF montage of many collected clips! We had a really good game of Cawk Blawkin with a great escape made by CIARAN REYNOLDS. We have also been playing a ton of minigames by Darth Human. I played my first game of Hogs from Heck and I have to say that it was pretty fun! Darth, if you're reading this, keep throwing out the awesome minigames, they (minigames in general I mean) fuel my TGIFs!
It's Rainin' Men!
And Now CIARAN REYNOLDS' Great Escape!
So here is, completely trapped, and surrounded by 15 people, no way out right?
Well somehow, POOF, black magic I'm guessing, he just levitates out of there and wins the round.
I hope you all enjoyed the recap. I'd like to thank all the hosts that made this article possible. If you'd like to host a TGIF or contribute to a host's recap, check out the next Site Update for information.
