TGIF 13: Recap

Last Friday, TGIF lucky number 13 took place. Wait hold the presses! That's an unlucky number, but luckily we lucked out. This time, we have a bunch of great recaps for you all to feast your eyes on. These cool cats didn't waver in the face of superstition and held the TGIF 13 flags up high. It worked out, so let's take a look at the details.

So this TGIF went better I expected, but not as well as some of my other TGIFs. My xbox died after my last party so I had to borrow my brother's slim. Then I realized that his xbox had no hdd, so I had no maps. So I got my good friend Mista Tipsta to help me out. Then I left for a a few mins, modded my old xbox hdd so I could run all my maps on the slim. After that everything was all good.

We played lots of vehicle related games, couple good games of race, some Stealin' Your Flags which is a pretty fun one as well as the still favorite, Crash Up Derby. The only downer to this party is that it didn't have as many people as usual and I wasn't able to host as long as usual. Here are some of my favorite moments:

When Push Comes To Shove...

Last Friday I hosted my third TGIF lobby. I had originally planned on starting at ten o’clock eastern, but things starting moving very fast and my lobby went up not long after six. Contrary to the last two times, my first lobby filled up to sixteen people within one game. So, we quickly began the chaotic fun of Darth’s Tetris. It was unfortunate that this time around, I didn’t dominate Tetris like a real man should. Anyway, we moved on through a mish-mash of my segments, consistently having sixteen people. And so, I played the staple maps and game types for my party:
- Left4Dead
- Data Hive
- The Hushed Apprentice
And last but not least - Stealin' Your Flags where I had to kick a couple people who were generally crampin the style.
Speaking of styles being cramped, we had this one kid who kept on playing loud noises through his mic. He was a small child and he apparently said some bad shit towards another player during a game of invasion. I was on the other team so I didn’t know if he said it or not. He said he was trying to be nice and the other guys were bullying him. I eventually kicked him late on for a fuckload of mic spam. If the player who received the verbal abuse is reading this, I am deeply sorry that it happened and I assure you that it will never happen again. I guess I should be wrapping this up but meh. We continued to test peoples maps and I must say the generally looked very nice. Most of us either had a fun time or gave feedback about possible changes if the game was broke/very unbalanced. I also later on added a new segment to my play list - CTF. We played on Cargo Port and Timberland to start. My early lobby eventually merged with my later lobby to have one 6 hour long TGIF. I would like to thank everyone who showed up on Friday and I hope I see most of you next time.

I also strongly believe some pictures are at hand;

Things were iffy at the start this week, I gave the wrong start time, and then I was nearly 45 minutes late. After the first game or so, people piled in; including one Mr. MetaWaddleDee, and a thank you to him for bringing an amazing Invasion map with him.

The other big thanks goes to Onyx Melon, because he brought one of the most fun vehicle maps I have ever played. If you're wondering why I'm avoiding talk about gameplay, I have made a video.

This was definitely the best TGIF lobby I have had since I started 2 months back. We started early around 2pm PST (5pm EST) and played for a good 7 hours straight with a full lobby. Everyone talked, hardly any party chats, no-mics, squeakers, and singers. So great job to everyone, had a great time. And now some screenshots:

Jump Rope (still testing) was the highlight of the night. I like to call this screenshot "What're you lookin' at?" Anyway, for those who don't know, the two warthogs you see in the corner, yeah they're coming at us at high speed and we can't move at all. So you gotta jump em.

We also played race on Clutch (by G0DS R3GR3t), no forgehub link. It was quite hectic, and its also my favorite race map.

We also played a new mini game I am making called "Toilet". Ill be posting it soon (if not already). As you can see everyone is pointing and laughing at the guy who is being flushed.

And we also played Protect the V.I.P.. Nice way to play grifball with 16 players with a different type of gameplay I like to call, mobile grifball. Yeah here you see the VIP just got blown up. I'm pretty sure aside from jump rope this was everyone's favorite. A must play for all TGIF lobbies!

Aside from the highlights, we played everything I could fit into 7 hours, and it was UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE. I hope to see everyone who was in this lobby again in the future TGIF's to come.

I hope you all enjoyed the recap. I'd like to thank all the hosts that made this article possible.
