Good afternoon, night, midday, morning, or whatever time of day you are currently experiencing. Today, I have a great article to glue your eyes to, but first I'd like to discuss some other important and related news.
You may be wondering what the point of hosting a TGIF is. Well, not only do you get the opportunity to play a bunch of customs the way you want it, when you want it, but you're also helping out Forge Hub and the community as a whole by supporting an event that brings a ton of people together. It's different every time, and it's awesome. So get involved!
You may also be wondering what the point of a recap is. Well, let me dig up a quote for you:
But there's more![The TGIF Recap] is really cool for hosts because what they make goes on the front page. If you're an aspiring writer, write a good story about your party, but don't make it too lengthy! Exhibit your pictures and video skills via the game's theater mode. Or maybe you just want to show everyone how fun your party is.
A third path to loyal (alongside both the Tester's Guild and Review Hub) has been activated, as you may have read in the last Site Update. Here are the requirements for gaining (and holding) this shiny new rank:
Customs Lobby Loyals must:
Host four consecutive TGIFs (that's back to back for a grand total of four TGIFs spanning eight weeks)
Party hard each TGIF for a minimum of two hours
Submit a recap of their TGIF, which consists of:
A two paragraph write up
A minimum of two pictures from their TGIF or one video
At least three download links of the maps and/or gametypes they've played
In order to retain their loyal they must continue to host TGIFs every two weeks.
So there you have it. Read, remember. But enough of that - we've got some pretty cool stuff for you to take a look at from last time, so here we go: This is your recap for TGIF #10, from March 18th, 2011.
pinohkio:
This weeks was definitely better than the last. Players joined as there was room, and after one warm-up round, we had enough to start the heavy stuff. There was a lot of flag oriented games this time around, and a lot of vehicular combat, but not as much Invasion as I would've liked, because there were more of my infamous connection issues again.
We started off with some One Flag on a greyer, more infantry friendly version on High Ground, then moved on to some Team Slayer on a Tombstone remake. Later into the night, we played Invasion Slayer on Freyja's Roost, again; some classic battles on a Containment remake; and the usual Stealin' Your Flags. All in all my party was just overall better than last time, and I hope this is a trend.

Speed-e-cake:
After starting off somewhat rocky, my Defiant map pack TGIF turned into a regular TGIF once I changed the map from Sword Base to Highlands and saw copious amounts of flashing lights. I decided to continue without axing my whole party, and to continue onward through improvising. We played a great variety of games, such as mini-games from my Bee Bashers, to Minesweeper, the classic infection map, No Hope Act 1: The Sewers, and invasion maps such as Cargo Port and LikeAlikeMike and gibber007's newest gem, Source of the Heat v2. Good times were had. We did not play as many BTB maps as I would have liked, so next time, I hope to incorporate more into my party. I've spent my fair share of Fridays playing TGIF's in Vice's parties, back in the Halo 3 days, so hosting a party for once felt more or less second nature.
Cryptokid was nice enough to make a super collaboration to start off my TGIF, and we got things going with a bang. He held the party while I ate, which was perfect, and when he went to start a Halo 3 party, I took over. The great thing was with the low amount of hosts, I was able to maintain a 12 or so player count through out, allowing for me to play the bigger and better maps, as previously mentioned. All in all, my party was a lot more successful than what I could have asked for, and I thank that greatly to those who participated; without you, my party would've sucked. I can't stress this enough; I owe all my success that night to you.

Cryptokid:
My TGIF started a little late, but the party filled up pretty quickly. I ended up merging my party with Speed E Cake and we were even joined by Iron Tusk for some time. The entire time the party ran everything went great but sadly, things did not last.
Around 10 PM I had the idea of going to Halo 3 for some true TGIF classics. Many people agreed and said they would meet me there. For some reason once I started up my party in H3 no one got on though. After that the party completely disbanded and I wasn't able to get it back together. This is my first time back in weeks though, so look for an even better party next time! I will try and host some games on H3 over the weekend, if it goes well my next TGIF will be on Halo 3, and no matter what, I should have a full length party next time!
