Site Update - February 27th

Feb 28 2011
2.3K

Welcome to the whimsical world of wonders, where you will find all of your dreams come true! In this realm, the lair of the backwards Site Update, you will find yourself a long and twisting tale complete with everything from the evil Tester’s Guild to some random blocks of text that have seemingly no purpose, and everything in between! So sit up, pay attention, buckle your seatbelts, and do whatever it takes to make it down the rabbit hole, because I can promise you that we aren't in Kansas anymore. Well, actually I am, but that's not the point!

And while it may sound exciting to you, just remember that I slaved for hours on end to get you this amazing display of literary prowess. And unlike that snake chrstphrbrnnn, I won’t try to buy your enjoyment with silly bribes of avatar codes and whatnot. Everything you get from me will be pure and simple, and I won’t make you jump through hoops just for some silly game; I’ll only make you jump through hoops in the name of the Site Update. Here we go!

Promotions...? Hello?

I have the benefit of being able to rage a little bit here. nearly THREE hours of asking around to see who was promoted, and not a single person to tell me. And since I am merely a Journalist and do not have access to the Admin Powers Stuff, I can never ever see who truly got promoted! So, I guess I'll do my best for all of you. To the farthest extent of my knowledge and research, there is one single guy who got the honor of a positive rank change. So you guys can all go and congratulate Confused Flamingo for his dedication to the Tester's Guild. Someone named Organite may or may not have been recently promoted as well!

Review Dudes

Picture the Review Hub Central Discussion; a quaint and peaceful pasture located squarely between a beautiful lake and a warm mountainside. As deer prance along and you hear the birds chirp, the kind little fellows in the Guild work their little tails off to go and rate your maps one at a time. Not all of them of course, but they tend to stick to the cool ones they see, or anything that you might post in this thread. While not everything is perfect, and there have been mistakes made, it seems as if they have managed to get themselves out of the dark hole of crushing dreams and peeing in your cheerios, much to the dismay of those foul fiends lurking in the Tester’s Axis.

Do you think you have the stuff to go around reviewing others' maps? It is certainly possible, if you have the proper combination of smarts, map design knowledge, and writing ability. All you need to do is click here, and fill out the application. Never fear, should your review not be up to standards, I promise that the Review Hubbers will kindly let you know how to get yourself up and running in no time.

Looking to see if they maybe graced you with a review? Check below!

Testers Devils

Well, here is the Tester’s Guild, notorious for helping people and being an all-around nuisance. I mean, with people like Spawn of Saltine, Tranzactionzero, and B3NW running it efficiently there is nothing that could possibly go right. Add on to that all of those dedicated Loyals like Confused Flamingo and that weird journalist Stevo, it’s a wonder that they are still running!

Anyway, even with all of the trouble that people give them, being a part of the Tester’s Guild means that you are a great guy who loves to help others. They dedicate a good chunk of their time to writing about your map, and helping you improve your map. Do you think you are qualified to be one of those helpful men, fighting for a better (Forge)world? Why didn’t you say anything before, you can sign up here you silly goose!

Forging Like a Boss

I’m certain that you all remember that opportunity we gave you to forge a map for Forge Hub’s 2v2 Throwdown Contest, right? Well, if you are still hoping to get your submissions in you should definitely hurry up; the contest ends next Thursday! Once it’s over, you’ll have to sit patiently while we decide and contact the winner(s) appropriately. You should be hearing more details about the actual tournament shortly after, including some wonderful news from our sponsors.

Spiral Out...
So, I felt like I could add something great to this Site Update. Almost like an insane rambling, possibly a side effect of being dropped as a child or living in Kansas; the Wizard of Oz is real I tell you! Anyway, regardless of the story of the Wicked Witch of the West, I think this turned out pretty good. So far it's done its job successfully, in my opinion. Although, it's really hard to fail at a pointless, topic-less verbal vomit. Yes, that's right, I definitely am saying everything I type here out loud. It's so much more fun that way! Have you ever just said random things out loud to confuse everyone in the room that you are in? Or started laughing ra-

Whoops! I almost got carried away. It's actually just about time to let you guys go back to your life, and I don't wanna hold you too long. So I'll just go ahead and leave.

G'bye.
