The iconic map that stole all of our hearts. Best known as the winner of the Foreign Treasures Contest, Sentinel boasts some of the best aesthetics ever seen in a Halo 3 forge map. Alongside its marvelous appearance, this map offers truly great gameplay. For having such an amazing level of quality, Sentinel is awarded Best Overall.

Best Competitive
Aerocrest

This hit is famous for how well it captured the essence of competitive play. Aerocrest is a massive creation that provides outstanding and balanced gameplay. The map is also known for its epic architecture. For its great execution of a competitive map, Aerocrest is awarded Best Competitive.

Best MLG
Xyience
Created by iTs_NeXn, Iv0rY Snak3 and DeKnoZx
Long before Sandbox, and all that jazz, this map was known as an MLG masterpiece. Even now this Foundry map is a great example of what MLG can be. Its innovative style supports a solid design which gives Xyience its great gameplay. For being such an innovative and great MLG map, Xyience is awarded Best of MLG.

Best Casual

From what began as a Halo 2 pastime, Cat n’ Mouse evolved and was reborn into Halo 3. Nowadays, this humorous game is a well-known classic. It didn’t need fancy merges; all it needed was some cat-like wraiths and those mousey mongooses. For its classic chase-styled gameplay, Cat n’ Mouse is awarded Best Casual.

Best Infection

The famous zombie game that featured linear gameplay. Manifest (Help’s on the Way Right?) offers a unique experience including a Boss Battle at the end. This urban-styled map gave Halo 3 players a totally new game. For its epic linear play, Manifest is awarded Best Infection.
Best Mini Game
This high-flyer dazzled players with its fun arcade style game. Blast Off utilized Halo 3’s physics to create a quirky mini-game that offered two ways to play, depending which team you were on. For true creativity, and simple addictive fun, Blast Off is awarded Best Mini-game.
Runner Up: Pinball
Best Race
Twists and turns circle a great guardian tower in this race map. Deviation is a track that inspires all forgers. Perfect curves are set way above the sands in an unusual but fun place. Racers truly enjoy this map due to its fun design. For its creativity and great fun, Deviation is awarded Best Race.

Best Aesthetic
Eight Emerald Legs

A giant spider lives on this map. Eight Emerald Legs is best known for the extremely large aesthetic piece that hovers over Black Out. Now a classic, this map shattered the bonds of forge before Sandbox dominated the map section. For its amazing aesthetic monster, Eight Emerald Legs is awarded Best Aesthetic.

Best Slayer
Remedy provided fantastic gameplay, focusing on the most popular gametype of the Halo Series. This map offered a solid layout unique to the played out Foundry. And you can’t forget the amazing forging seen in this one. For its solid slayer experience, Remedy is awarded Best Slayer.

Best Asymmetrical Objective
Utah Mambo

This map is huge; both actually and metaphorically. This is such a gigantic map that offers great objective play. The Defender’s base is famously merged into the sandy dunes. Utah Mambo is often called one of the greats. For its amazing experience, Utah Mambo is awarded Best Asymmetric Objective.

Gridlocked

Classic Forge Hub map that was a staple of objective play. A simple, yet elegant design is found at the core of Gridlocked. Box towers shape this map into the grid style that it’s famous for. This creation truly brought Foundry to a new level. For its great design and amazing objective play, Gridlocked is awarded Best Symmetrical Objective.

Distortion

Insane map that bent players’ minds. Distortion makes up - down, left - right, and your brain into mush. An extreme level of creativity was put into this one by using 45 degree angles to create optical illusions. For its crazy forging done in a really unique way, Distortion is awarded Best Original.

Socratic Method

Conquest is its own beast, and this masterpiece shows how it should be done. Socratic Methods utilizes the linear design that comes with the gametype and adds interesting aspects. The map’s elaborate theme succeeds in creating an epic feel. For being a really great map for the gametype, Socratic Method is awarded Best Conquest.

Race
Simply an extremely functional and fun gametype. Race’s fame is unparalleled. Thousands of racetracks are paired with this gametype. For the famous fun that this gametype creates, Race is awarded best Gametype.
