Promotions/Retirements

Not a lot of action to report here this week hubbers, not like 2 weeks ago when everybody and their mother changed roles :) We'll start with the departure of a long standing and dear friend of the staff, Grif. For a very long time Grif has been a faithful Forge Hub member and a long standing contributor to the site and it's sad to see him go. But he will still be here and will now don his old purple Loyal dudz. See ya man, thanks for everything.

Also joining the Purple People Eaters rank is MickRaider. It's been a while since we have promoted a brand spankin' new Loyal member and the infusion of new blood was long awaited and well deserved. Congrats man, wear it loud and wear it proud.

And.....that is it. Told you it was a slow 2 weeks :)

New BB Code

The newest addition to the BB codes is a pretty cool one. All you have to do is use this code: . Slap your Bungie Rendered video number in between the code and you'll be able to embed your vids a la Youtube right to Forge Hub, like so:

Implemented due to a community request thread in Customer Service by SmokinWaffle

Pretty sweet huh? And maybe someday you'll all be cool enough to get your hands on a Carbine Machine Gun.........Actually, naaaaaaah.

Round 4 was underway this week and you should have been battling it out on Antagon if you were in the winners bracket and Prototype if you were a loser. And in your spare time you should have been practicing on Contention and preparing for this weeks match. Keep in mind that there is no dedicated losers bracket map this week so Contention will serve as both the Winners and the Losers bracket map. Best of luck to all.

1v1 Conflict Tournament Sweepstake

The 1v1 Conflict Sweepstake is underway so swing over and check out all the details on what it's all about. For those of you who are too lazy to click the link just know there's 3200 MS Points up for grabs for the winner of the sweepstake. Is that enough motivation for ya? I thought so. Now go fill that form out.

Behind The Corruption

Behind the Corruption is an interview of sorts of the good hard working staff members here at Forge Hub. Each new site update will bring in a new staff member. This week it's, well... myself. Creeping Death. Yes I am serious, and yes I am that conceited.

Q. So Creeping, who exactly are you and what do you do here? Besides nothing!!

A. Nothing? I resent that :) But seriously Creeping, I am Creeping Death and I am the tall, dark, and just plain awesome Journalist that writes the site updates here at Forge Hub!

Q. Shut up. So how is it you conned your way to this position?

A. Well, not to toot my own horn but I am kind of a big deal. Way back when I was awarded the prestigious rank of Loyal. Then came 4 featured maps :) After accomplishing that I was instrumental in the creation of the Guardians and in turn was awarded the position for my efforts. After serving some time there I was asked by the gracious Staff members at the time to move up to Moderator, and I took the job. After being a Mod for a while and taking tons of flak for some of my banning's (that shall not be named) I grew a bit tired of Modding and took on the duties I now have. So as you can see Creeping, it's kinda like the feel good story of the year. Movie rights are still in discussion.

Q. Lies mostly, I'm sure. But if you insist on thinking you are so damn important, why don't you tell us what you like most about Forge Hub, Creeping.

A. Well Creeping, it's simple. The maps. It's the reason I joined the site. These days I read more than comment, especially since my H3 disk is busted. I hate commenting on maps I am unable to play, but if I must I will. The maps section is really the life blood of the site in my opinion. Some say it is Sarge, but I beg to differ. He's more like the slow release Tylenol PM caplet of Forge Hub.

Q. Damn right he is. You are one smart fellah Creeping. Anyways, got any tips for people new to Forge?

A. Just build the way you want to build. Whatever makes you comfortable. If you do better planning a map out with sketchup then do so. If you feel better coming up with an idea or theme in your head and building from there then do that. And of course check out the Forging 101 section, those are the basics of Forging and a must read for anyone just getting into map making. Do you agree Creeping?

Q. Uh, yeah....sure. Just a couple more questions Creeping and we'll be done. Would you be willing to share some info on any new maps or gametypes you're working on?

A. As I said before Creeping, my Halo disk is busted, so I have nothing going on right now sadly. But I do have ideas....I always have ideas......Muha...muahah....muahahahah......muahahahahahahahah!!!

Q. Creepy kinda. So for one final question, if you could play Halo 3: ODST early with three other members of Forge Hub, who would they be?

A. Well Creeping the answer is simple I would play with myself.

Er....that sounded...wrong.

What I meant was it would be Myself, Lightsout225, Vicious Vice (wherever he went) and thesilencebroken. I'd say Sarge but he would just get pwned and leave in a hissy fit. Like usual.

So that wraps it up for now. Creep, it was a pleasure interviewing myself. Keep it up and leave Sarge alone, that's like what? 4 straight updates where you picked on him?

That's it? Really?

Sadly, yes. But you can't expect a massive super-cool-update-to-endtheworld update every time ya know. With all the work involved in the tournament and people getting back to school and such it comes as no surprise that you guys will have to suffer through the occasional short update. Sorry.

But fear not Hubbers, by the time the next update comes around we would have spent some time with ODST and there's sure to be some cool stuff to come along with that. Later!
