Forge Hub vs The Running Riot

Last week's SNF took a slightly different form, teams of 4 being traded up for a healthy dose of doubles against The Running Riot. If you haven't heard of them already, you should definitely click on that glowing blue name and check them out right now. One of the bigger names in the Halo community, The Running Riot is a monthly Halo-themed talk show, taking the form of a live podcast, and featuring some shining faces from all over the Halo community, including our own Shock Theta and Insane54 not so long ago. But the depreciated team sizes weren't the only deviation this week, with the maps that played host to our showdown being plucked from our compliment of unreleased 1v1 Conflict tournament maps. Flying the flag for Forge Hub was our very own Insane54, the second spot on the red team being filled by 3 community members, each given the chance to get up close and personal with these maps before they were available to the general public.

Game 1: Conflict on Anatgon

First up on the list of map previews was Antagon by Zombievillan, a symmetrical arena forged in the Sky Bubble of Sandbox. Featuring long lines of sight across the outer reaches, complimented by some more claustrophobic, close quarters areas below top middle, and sporting some flash aesthetic touches, Antagon saw Team Forge Hub surge ahead early in the game. Team TRR fought back to bring the game back to a close lead for FH, but we kept our cool and stayed ahead, pinohkio closing out with an impressive 17 kills.

Final Score:
Team Forge Hub: 25
Team TRR: 18

Outnumbered

Game 2: Conflict on Prototype

Match number two took place on Prototype, by Vorpal Saint and yours truly. Set in the Crypt of Sandbox, and also taking the symmetrical route of map design, Prototype features a power weapon for all tastes, with a weapon compliment including Rockets, Overshield and dual Snipers. Insane was happily T-bagging away, but once again our community guest, Mikelp10 this time around, won through with a dominant +10 k/d spread, sealing a second victory for Team Forge Hub.

Final Score:
Team Forge Hub: 25
Team TRR: 14

Outnumbered...again

Game 3: Snords on Cayenne

Game 3 took a different turn in terms of gametype choice, with the standard 1v1 gametype Conflict being switched up for some Team Snords (Sniper Rifles and Swords only for those who didn't guess) on Cayanne by Transactionzero. Another Sky Bubble creation, but this time touting an asymmetrical layout, Cayanne is lined up for the Quarter Finals of the 1v1 Conflict Winners Bracket, and as such is the only one of the 3 maps previewed to be still unreleased as yet. You should check out the link below to all 3 games in the archive of Insane's channel if you want to see Cayanne in detail and get ahead of time, but as a summary: it was close. Team TRR seemed determined to take this last game as their own, and InsaneFREAKBOY's Sniper spoke for itself, keeping TRR close and pulling them ahead near to the end. But Insane finally stopped T-bagging and tried using his own Sniper, landing 3 tight headshots to close out the game and the series.

Final Score:
Team Forge Hub: 25
Team TRR: 23

You can check out the video of last week's proceedings on Insane's Channel if you'd like to see the 1v1 Conflict maps in thorough detail. We'd like to thank The Running Riot once again for taking the time to throw down with us and helping us showcase our upcoming 1v1 maps. As always, it was a pleasure, gents.
