Welcome avid readers to the Forge Hub community Spotlight. Here we highlight some of the shiny stars, as well as underlooked talents, using anything from inquisitive interviews, to map highlights and anything else that we feel has gone without enough notice. This week on the Community Spotlight we have Yeti, a member chosen through fun random selection! We took the 500 members with the top amount of posts, used a random number generator (number:203), and we were given Mr. Yeti. So check out what he has to say about the Hub.
Many of us found our way here very differently, how did you first happen upon Forge Hub?
I read about it in a thread on Bungie.net. I thought "Hey, I like Forging! It would be cool if I could talk to people who also like Forging!" So I decided to join.
Once you arrived here, what kept you enthralled with the community?
The awesome community, mostly. I also really enjoy seeing what new map variants are available so I can give them a test-run in Forge. The Forgers here just make excellent work, so it's hard for me not to log on to Forge Hub to see what's cooking.
Some people love us, some people hate us, some don't even care. Whats your opinion on the Forge Hub community?
They are pretty neat.. mostly. Ha ha, no the community here is really tight-nit and it seems that everyone knows each other which I think is really great. That's what I love about this site, but I wish that sometimes I could get a little bit more involved. Time is an issue though.
Having been a member here for quite some time, what have you come across here at the Hub that you are fond of?
The awesome map variants that are submitted every day. My favorite thing to do here is just browse the new and interesting maps.
Forge Hub has a large amount of members who frequent the site, out of those guys, who would you say you get along with the most?
I'd like to think I get along with everyone I come across. I don't know too many people on this site, but for the people I occasionally talk to, it would have to be xFr1ct10nx, RightSideTheory, and Wrex.
For the past few months, Forge Hub has been teasing a big announcement, which turned out to be the next installment of a Forge Hub wide tournament. What are your thoughts on the reveal?
I think it's a really good idea, and I wish I could have joined. I don't really enjoy 1v1 games as much as I do 4v4 games, but I think it would have been a great experience to get to know the people on Forge Hub a lot more. I look forward to seeing who comes out on top!
Some people may know you by a different name, as you've changed since you first joined the site. What was it, and why the change?
Well, when I first joined my username was 'RebornYeti'. Even though that was my name, people just called me Yeti anyway, so I contacted an admin to have them change my name to just 'Yeti'.
A lot of different members work on different things around the site. What do you feel you've contributed most too around the site?
I don't feel that I've contributed much, but I must say I give pretty good map reviews. Wink wink.
Out of all the great Forge maps to grace the pages of FH, which would you say is the most outstanding to you?
Oh, it would definitely have to be Utah Mambo, seeing as how I'm from Utah. No, I'm kidding. I think it's a really great map for my kind of play style.
Many hubbers frequent Halo 3, and like to play some matchmaking. Which playlist do you like to spend countless hours in?
Social Slayer.
What activities do you take part in outside of Forge Hub?
I usually go to Bungie.net, Gametrailers, and NeoGAF. Or when I'm not on the internet, I like to Wake Board. It's pretty rad, yo.
