Question & Answer of Epic Proportion

Earlier this week I posted a topic asking the community to post questions that I would answer in this edition of the Musings. Well the topic grew to five pages, filled with questions ranging from serious to comical in tone. Well I won't be answering all the questions, but I will do my best to answer as many as I can.
What maps do you like that have been created by other people in recent history? What do you like to see in a forge created map?
I'm not a very competitive person so maps that are of casual nature usually catch my eye. Brute Burnout, Clue maps, and Snowmice among others are some new additions that I enjoy.
Personally when I am looking at Forge maps I like to see innovation, something new and unique. Forgers who take something we all think we know and flip that idea on its head are the true Forgers who I respect. Taking old ideas and making them new or creating entirely new ideas is the true spirit of Forge.
What was the thoughts you guys had when you first started ForgeHub? did you have any idea it would turn into something like this?
And who are your favorite members? :P
Of course I had no idea that Forge Hub would snowball into the giant it is today. When I created Forge Hub, it was originally intended to be a place for my friends and I to post our maps. Naturally the maps received good attention since we were using many techniques that were innovative for the time and with the attention came questions so naturally we added tutorials to make answering the questions easy. Then we decided to get the community more involved, and after that it just sort of snowballed to the point where it is now.
Who are my favorite members? Well I would have to say the ones who send messages to Sarge asking for recon.

What are your views on the maps being featured lately... do you think they are worthy?

What do you think of the recent moderators that are being chosen to monitor the forums; do you think they are great additions or not?
Of course I think the maps that have been featured lately are worthy. We feature the cream of the crop from what the community has been putting out at the moment. The quality of features is totally up the Forging community at the time.
As far as the new moderators go, I think they are absolutely necessary. Certain sections of the forums need some clean up, and they are just what the doctor ordered.
What do you think the best way to become well known here is?
Post smart, sign up for TGIF, play with the community, and get to know a few of the Staff/Loyal members. At the same time don't suck up to them. Alternatively you could just make creative maps that are designed well.

What are your views on the rate of people being more active and posting more?
It's good as long as it isn't spam. If you're going to be active post smart. Also if you plan on posting in the map section please actually play the map before posting or say you will edit after testing. Forgers want good feedback, not looks good 5/5 or bleh 1/5. Post your reasons for the rating.

Never even played it. All time favorite would have to be Jedi Academy on the PC closely followed by KOTOR.

I smell a map editor from the general direction of Halo Wars, but the scent is weak. Maybe if we get closer to the scent we will be able to tell.
Do you feel your site is getting out of your control?
No, we just bought a collar and leash for it.

When is the Map DB coming and could we hear more on how its going to work?
Well BetaWaffles seems to have died or something, but FinalCutHalo assures me that he is continuing work.

Will ForgeHub support games with map editors like Far Cry 2?
I think we will stick to Halo titles for now, but perhaps a Far Cry sub-forum under gaming discussion will be in order. I am not promising anything, but we shall see.
I was thinking, Bungie hasn't made forge the way I thought they would, I thought the map would come with a blank canvas, and you could design floors, and walls, choose a sky, so much so you could virtually make your own map. Do you think this might ever happen?
Bungie has already stated that no drastic changes will be made to Forge.
How close do we live from each other? I am sure we can get some coffee at starbucks.

They deserve the rank of Loyal as they obviously are quite dedicated to the site and post smart.
Rep seems to have improved after the added infraction and a few tweaks made behind the scenes to make rep whoring unnecessary.
