Introducing Bridge Over. This is the first map I have made that I feel is good enough to show off to the community. I hope to one day make a map that is worthy of rotation on the bungie playlists. Here's hopin'...

So this is a wide shot that encompases the entirety of the map. Its made up of a base at either end, a bridge with towers at either end, towers at the middle, a walkway leading underneath and a walkway over the top. Theres a pair or rock ledges that grant a player a nice vantage point of the bride but with minimal cover from air support. There are also man cannons leading to the middle towers.

This is the bridge from red base's end. The bridge itself is symmetrical but the level isn't quite. At the ends of the bridge you have access to DMR and Needle Rifle as well as Shotgun on the overpass there. Accessing those towers will lead you to the man cannons on either side. This is also the way to go if you want to walk along the top of the bridge.

This is Red Base. All the initial spawns are inside for red team. Regular spawns for red team surround it.

Red Base again, but this time encompasing vehicle spawns. Each side gets a Rocket Warthog and a Banshee. Rocket warthogs are great for anti air defense as well as a quick transport for flag or bomb. Banshee can provide cover for flag/bomb drops but there are a lot of weapons that can scare a banshee in this map, ie laser, rockets snipers and rocket hogs so you need a skilled pilot to dominate the sky.

Each end has two man cannons that lead to the middle towers. First floor is an invasion tier 1 capture zone top floor is focus rifle spawn. Use the man cannon at your own risk though. There is nothing at the other end to break your fall. Initial playtesting has revealed a 1 in 5 chance of taking damage on arrival. Leaving you vulnerable until you pick up a health pack kindly provided at the tower's top floor. This presents a risk/reward scenario: Do you circumvent half the bridge to save time and possibly take damage or do you take your chances covering the groud on foot? This may be a big point of contention and i'll be interested to see how the community reacts here.

So you've made it to the middle tower (a feat that requires strong teamwork) and you discover a staircase leading out the back of the tower. You can cross the bridge to the other tower along this walkway and maybe even pick up a rocket launcher along the way. Watch for snipers though theres only a certain amount of cover down here.

So you might consider the thought of crossing the bridge madness without any cover, well never fear the vertical long walkway covers used here provide ample cover as you cross the bridge just watch out for nades.

Here's Blue Base. Its on flatter ground so it doesn't need a ramp in its entry way. One striking difference between Red and Blue base is that Red Base has a back door entrance while blue base doesn't. Mainly because of the horrible fall off a cliff into the ocean that would await you; Safety First!

Blue team has a little further to go to get their vehicles but the ground is a lot flatter and easier to traverse. Both teams end up arriving there at roughly the same time.

Walk along the top of the bridge and you will reach a langing pad complete with Spartan Laser and incomplete with only two blinking lights. A request has been put through with maintainance to change the light bulbs but they are still trying to work out how many spartans it would take.

The ledges above have been favoured too by snipers wanting a birds eye view of the bridge or a vantage point to take out the banshee so pilots beware!

It's a long way to the top...

These are the vantage points each team have along side the bridge. They exist on the same side, so are vulnerable to eachother for sniper fire. The first image is blue base's rock shelf. Its flatter so you can park a warthog there if you need to, its higher so you have a slight advantage over the other side but its bare so theres little to no cover. The second image is Red Base's Rock Tongue. Its more rocky so theres plenty of cover but traversing it takes longer and it takes a skilled driver to park a warthog there. It also doesn't protrude as far as the shelf so whilst you might not get the same vantage point as the other team you're also closer to your base if you're needed elsewhere.

Underneath each end of the bridge is a ledge. This is where sniper spawns. My original thought was to put snipers in the middle towers at the end of the man cannons but it proved too easy for greedy players to go to one tower, pick up snipe, race across to the other tower, pick up the ammo and dominate the map with the only sniper. Waaaaay too unfair. So sniper spawns here now where only one team can easily access it. Each team can now fight for sniper dominance the old fangled way. Also having the sniper spawn here adds an element of risk to obtaining the rocket launcher as snipers will easily see you.

This legde also has a teleporter on it that sends you to a nook under the lower walkway.

In this nook you can have a grav hammer. Handy for base defence if you can get it back there. I had to put a divider in here because in initial playtesting i didn't like how a player could cross the bridge in seconds by using the two pairs of teleporters but i still wanted to use this cool little nook that was created almost by accident when i was designing the lower walkway using large brace pieces.

So i know that was a lot to explain but i hope this was ok for my first presentation. Please take a look and please tell me what you think. I hope to get the playtesters to have a crack at it too.
