Precursor

"Despite being overrun by the UNSC, these ancient structures are at the peak of their beauty."

Precursor is a large scale Big Team Battle map for 10-16 players. The map supports CTF, Slayer and King of the Hill (which has proven to be quite fun with large party sizes and vehicles.) The theme of the map harkens back to many Halo 1 and Halo 2 settings, so you'll see lots of large forerunner buildings deriving from natural sources such as grass and rock. Inspirations for Precursor came from maps like Daybreak and Relic. The vehicle setup includes a chain hog, rocket hog, ghost and mongoose. The power weapons I chose mainly function as vehicle counter weapons: Rocket Launcher on Initial ordnance in the middle structure and the Spartan Laser and Sniper Rifle on Random Ordnance spawning on the two flanking sides of the map. There are close quarters engagements for infantry but also multiple routes for vehicles as well as two hog jumps you'll wanna try out.

This map plays well with casual parties or anyone looking to have an explosive and fun match of BTB. I am well aware of the flatness around the bases. I experienced several problems while building this map, including lines of sights, cross map shooting, camping, and spawn traps. I was able to eliminate most of these issues by raising the middle structure and adding a large hill with cut-throughs in the middle. The pockets of gameplay while on foot are segmented from most of the map, but only with free standing structures. The flatness around the bases is still present. I wish we had some damn hills or more Rock 5s. Playing with BRs only should help a lot. Nonetheless, I learned a lot about Forge Island creating this map and I hope you guys enjoy playing on it.
