This map started out as my attempt to get the Falcon on some Team Slayer/Objective maps. I really enjoyed Standoff from Halo 3 and felt that type of gameplay was missing from the Halo: Reach map set. This is the end result...

Aviary is a symmetrical map with two team bases separated by an open center structure. Each team has access to a Falcon towards the open side of the map. The two Falcon helipads are connected via a bridge that stretches out in the front of the map with a sniper rifle located in the center. The peninsula that the bridge wraps around holds rockets to battle the presence of the Falcons. In the center structure you will find a hammer in addition to some health packs and sticky grenades. And on the back wall is a tower holding a grenade launcher. The tower is accessible via a lift at the bottom and two man-cannons at the back of the map next to each team's base.

Each team's base is two floors. The basement has 3 entrances: a large front entrance facing the center structure and two side entrances under the ramps that take you to the top of the base. The only weapon to be found in the basement of the base is a shotgun near the front door. At the back of the basement is a ramp that takes you past a health pack on your way up to the top floor of the base. The top floor of the base is home to a needle rifle and dmr in addition to a pistol in the sniper's nest. Under the sniper's nest are two grenades and the flag spawns. The walk-way that goes around the front of each team's base holds a plasma pistol and provides another access point to the base via the top of the center structure.

In my experience this map plays extremely well for capture the flag game-types in addition to Team Slayer. The Falcon is fun to fly around in but you need to be careful with the grenade launcher & plasma pistols that your enemy may be carrying. Flying around the front of the map can lead to a long fall to your death if you are aren't careful. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

Stickey Grenades x4 - 4 in bottom of center structure
Grenades x8 - 2 under sniper next of each base, 2 on each helipad
Health Packs x6 - 1 at the back of each base, 2 on the bottom of center structure, 1 in each helipad
