Cellar 1.0 is an inspired remake of Halo CE’s map Prisoner. Originally I started creating this map as a pixel perfect remake of prisoner. After I introduced Mufasa to the map we converted Cellar into a small MLG styled map capable of supporting 2-8 players. Cellar has gone through countless testing and changes each improving gameplay aspects of the map. For anyone who is familiar with Halo CE’s prisoner the most obvious changes are a decreased amount of levels from 4 to 2. Another notable change is the added hallways/ ramps so the map creates faster paced and free flowing gameplay and to add more opportunities to get to the second level.

Obviously the map has been designed for the all current MLG gametypes. Most of you guys are most likely aware of this, but Reach has OP grenades. So Bravos and I thought after testing the map that we would modify the MLG settings so that players only spawn with 1 frag grenade. This makes the whole game a much less frustrating experience and really does help create a more tactical use for grenades instead of them being spammed across the map whenever you spawn. Even Bungie have done this same in team snipers.

Cellar team slayer is definitely this maps strongest gametype. With the maps small size and the decrease of grenades off the spawn the map produces fast and flowing gameplay that is easy to watch.

Yet to play a full game of oddball on this map so I’m unsure how it plays. Should feel similar to Halo 3's oddball except that the player holding the oddball can kill someone with one melee, not sure how to fix that.

This would obviously be a less ‘hardcore’ gametype but Bravos and I had lots of fun playing this gametype in matchmaking so I thought it would be sweet to have it on this map. Yet to test how the gameplay is unfortunately so I can imagine that there may be some changes needed to this gametype.

Creating gametypes is a lot harder in Reach for me. The stuff is so comfusing so I'll update this thread when I've added other gametypes like flag, bomb and headhunter ect...

It would be very helpful for everyone who reads this to give your opinion on what you think. At best we’d love for you to test it and give us feedback as we think this map has a lot of potential. So anything will help and I’d love to discuss the map if you have any questions or tips. Since the map has undergone little testing I know that the spawns will need improvements. So if any players play the map and have any issues with the spawns please feel free to let me know. Another issue with the map is the OS located at bottom mid. Since most players didn’t know it was actually there on the map it wasn’t used a lot. I’m not sure how it’ll affect the game so if anyone has any idea’s on changes or improvements let me know.

Depending on how much positive feedback I get I’ll be uploading gameplay from the map. This most likely won’t be my gameplay so if anyone feels that they’re pretty decent, test the map, upload it to your fileshare and link it to this thread. Then I’ll just upload the gameplay to this thread.
