Bull Run

This minigame can bring excitement, joy, and...well...getting killed by an accelerating chopper boosting straight into your gut. This is Bull Run where if you mess with the bulls, you will almost always get the horns:

Made on Rat's Nest because this was the best map for it. Even though it featured nearly perfect winding tunnels and even a cliff, it still had to have a lot of work done.

History:

A few months ago I came across a map similar to this one. It had the same concept but was very poorly made. The game could not have even been played because of all the ways to get out of the map and cause chaos. I played it over and over again with many different people, almost all having to just end the game because it was so horrible.

I decided to take the map and forge off of it. It took many months to create even though it was a very simple map. Rat's Nest had many different ways to get out of the map so it required many different tests and hundreds of tweaks. It did not help that I went on and off and only worked on the map a few times a month. Finally I was happy with the product.

As you can see, jumping over the bull is not a good way to go when your jump is set to 200%. This is so it is easier for the bulls to run people over and so people cannot try to get out of the map.

There are many ways to kill the bull, both intentionally and accidentally. My favorite is where the cliff comes in:

If you are smart, luring bulls off the cliff can be easy. For others, it is not. There are sweet spots on the cliff where avoiding bulls does not result in death. Other ways to kill the bull include assassinating him when he flips over, making him so angry that he gets out of the chopper and tries to kill you, or having the bull be your friend that just happens to be playing with you go to the bathroom and you taking his controller and driving him off the cliff.

As I said before, it is virtually impossible to get out of the map or the section above the stairs without stacking on top of each other, hard to do when you have two bulls running around trying to boost into everyone. Here are some of the blockers:

Since I take cheating very seriously, trying to get past the teleporters (impossible) will kill you. I tried to make them so they did not but could not find a way. They do not affect gameplay and are put as far back as possible so they are not in the way.

Being a human does not mean you are going to eventually be killed, it can be a good thing. With only 1 life for the bulls and a 7 minute time limit, you can finish the round easily if the bulls are not the smartest around. Or, as said earlier, you could be boosted into by a bull sacrificing his/her life off a cliff just to kill you (has happened to me many times).
