Cloud 9

This is my first Halo 3 map, put out for people to give a try. I got a lot of influence from LIGHTSOUT225's map "Heatwave". I had an idea for a sky base(s) in Standoff because at least it has some building tools, then I found Heatwave and got inspired. (I especially loved his use of receiver nodes holding a pallet, which I've used above)

I'm more of a simpleton when it comes to the games I like to play, keeping it to mostly Slayer variants and the like; though I'm sure Cloud 9 could be adapted for Capture the Flag, Assault, etc.

The bases on either side have been blocked off, keeping the action out in the open. Almost all of the spawn points are placed at the various man cannons which lead to a choke point at the floating fortress. There are 5 man cannons in all and 3 portals that all lead skyward. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to use them, moody man cannons can always be a challenge.

Almost all of the weapons are located in the sky, however there are a few heavy hitters located on the fringes of the map, including: 2 Gauss Warthogs, 2 Missile Pods, 2 Beam Rifle/Invisibility combos, and 2 Fuel Rod Cannon/Over-shield combos.

The difficulty being that if you're willing to try and make it to them, it should be worth your while. At the same time though, you'll be thinking "Death from Above" when someone gets the Spartan Laser.

I had a lot of fun creating this map variant, and it's been even more fun playing on it. I'm still a little green with all the tricks and quirks in Forge, but I'm very proud of Cloud 9 and hope you'll enjoy it.

Sidenote: The portal on missile silo #2 sometimes will come up as "blocked", this is because there is a man cannon located on top of the receiving node. The easiest way to avoid this is to jump into the portal.
