This is a diorama of the Precursors' gathering at the center of a newly born universe where great plans and greater responsibility await. My diorama was inspired by the very first official art depicting the Timeless One/Primordial in the latest book: HALO MYTHOS!!

With the latest Forge update to Halo 5, we got prefabs. I quickly got to work and ideas sprung and evolved from one thing to the next. Originally, I wanted to Prefab things I could concept for a new map and then just import the assets on site as needed. Progenitor was originally planned to be a playable multiplayer space delivering twisted sites and structures that have never before been seen in a Halo game. I wanted to deliver Precursor 'stuff' to fans.

Precursors are something the loyal and involved Halo fan have wanted to see in a Halo game for some time now. In Greg Bear's Forerunner trilogy of books, we learned both vague and key features and descriptions of a Precursor's true physical form. With these in mind, and thanks to the latest and first official art from the book, MYTHOS, I got to work. The thing that presented an exceptional challenge for me was making sure they looked truly organic and alive. The most challenging part of this project was developing a vision of Precursor artifacts and structures; something we have virtually nothing to work with as there is little to no details from 343's canon; other than that they are organic, and indestructible....almost *cough* ;).

The "cosmic root" as I'm calling it, has to look advanced, mystical, metallic, and above all, very organic looking at the same time. So I tried. One of my satisfying results is the twisting silver-green foundation upon which the Timeless One himself, stands on, respectively, at the event's center. If you are picking up on similarities to other formations on planet Genesis, you're not wrong. Does the cosmic root also resemble something that will later plague all living things?- you're not wrong.

There is more to come in the future as far as realizing the Precursors in-game and I feel that I have a strong start! Keep a look out for an actual multiplayer playspace from me soon! Until then, enjoy!
